UCSI University received a prestigious award for  "QS Recognition for Improvement"   from QS World University Rankings 2023, establishing it as the first and only in the world to be bestowed with such an honour and for showcasing the most improved university in rankings, on average, climbing 63 spots to be ranked 284th, and placing it among the world’s top 300 universities.

UCSI University continues to be ranked among the top 0.9% of the world’s universities and is in the 6th position among all Malaysian universities . The university is now ranked highest within the private university sector in the country.

  • IELTS (International English Language Testing System): A minimum overall score of 6.0 with no band lower than 5.5.
  • TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language):
    • Paper-Based Test (PBT): A minimum score of 550.
    • Internet-Based Test (IBT): A minimum score of 79.
  • MUET (Malaysian University English Test): A minimum Band score of 4.
  • Cambridge English Qualifications: C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency with a score of at least 169.
  • Other recognized English language tests: Students can check with the admissions office for accepted alternative tests.

2. Postgraduate Programs

For postgraduate programs, the English language proficiency requirements are typically higher:

  • IELTS: A minimum overall score of 6.5 with no band lower than 6.0.
  • TOEFL:
    • Paper-Based Test (PBT): A minimum score of 600.
    • Internet-Based Test (IBT): A minimum score of 90.
  • MUET: A minimum Band score of 5.
  • Cambridge English Qualifications: C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency with a score of at least 176.
  • Other recognized English language tests: Students should confirm with the admissions office regarding accepted alternatives.

Certain students may be exempt from these requirements if they meet specific criteria:

  • Students who have completed their secondary or higher education in English-medium institutions may not need to provide additional proof of English proficiency.
