About Soonchunhyang University
The name "Soonchunhyang" means "the peaceful hometown complying with the will of heaven." In 1978 Dr. Succ-jo Suh, a renowned authority in neurology established Soonchunhyang Medical College with fewer than one hundred students to educate aspiring doctors.His philosophy of medical practice was, “It is not a doctor, but Heaven that cures a disease. A doctor helps only the curing process.” With this humble philosophy and beginnings, SCH set off and transformed itself to a highly respected institution of higher education and research.The University currently has six colleges and six graduate schools with over 12,000 students enrolled and approximately 380 faculty members. In addition, the university is running four general hospitals in four major cities in Korea creating an up-to-date medical network.The University offers a rich variety of courses in Medicine and Natural Sciences, as well as all professional field including Humanities, Business Administration and Engineering.SCH has particularly strong medicine and medical sciences departments and has constantly strived to excel in both education and research. SCH’s reputation for quality education has been continually proved when the Ministry of Education has granted the "National Award for Educational Renovation" for three successive years.
