In a European context marked by the aftermath of World War I, shortly after the union of Romanian territories, the pressing requisite of the Romanian society to be able to form engineers was answered in 1920 by establishing Politehnica University Timisoara (UPT).

UPT, a university of advanced research and prestigious education is today one of the biggest brands in the Romanian academic community, recognized nationally and internationally through the outstanding work of distinguished academics, the professionalism of generations of engineers and its mark on the socio-economic development of the region.
