Founded in 1977, the Mittuniversitetet (Mid Sweden University) is a non-profit public higher  education institution located in the suburban setting of the small city of Sundsvall (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Vasternorrland County. This institution also has a branch campus in Östersund. Officially recognized by the Utbildningsdepartementet, Sverige (Ministry of  Education and Research of Sweden), Mittuniversitetet (MIUN) is a large-sized (uniRank enrollment range: 15,000-19,999 students) coeducational Swedish higher education institution. Mittuniversitetet (MIUN) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor's degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation), bachelor's degrees, master's degrees and doctorate degrees in several areas of study.
