Lappeenranta-Lahti University of Technology LUT (LUT University) is a public science university in Finland, bringing together the fields of science and business since 1969.

 

The LUT community shares a certain attitude and state of mind. We do things differently. We look at things from unexpected perspectives, we question, and we search for solutions. We fight for a better world – for all that is good. We are a community where curious people inspire curious people.

Clean energy, water and air are life-giving resources for which we at LUT University seek new solutions with our expertise in technology and business. At LUT University, we have a very international campus community – consisting of 7 500 members of more than 90 different nationalities. Our campuses are located in the cities of Lappeenranta and Lahti in Finland.  Both cities share LUT’s vision of sustainability: Lappeenranta is a winner of the European Green Leaf Award and Lahti is a winner of European Green Capital Award, both for the year 2021.

We offer Master’s, Bachelor’s, doctoral, exchange and seasonal programmes. At the Master’s level, you can choose from the following disciplines: business administration, chemical engineering, computational engineering, electrical engineering, energy technology, environmental technology, industrial management, mechanical engineering and software engineering. At the Bachelor’s level, the options are electrical engineering, energy technology, environmental technology, mechanical engineering, software engineering, and industrial engineering and management. LUT University will start degree programmes in social sciences and communication sciences in autumn 2023.

LUT University’s green and modern campuses offer a compact combination of all of the services students need. Most student apartments are located within walking distance from the LUT science departments, and there are also plenty of excellent sports and recreation venues on the LUT campuses for both our students and staff.
