About Concordia University
Concordia is an English-language university in the heart of the world-class city of Montreal, Canada. From classroom to lab, in our libraries and on our streets, the Concordia community is resolutely anchored to the real world — open and engaged, compassionate and caring. We are recognized for our flexible approach to learning, and for our commitment to examining societal issues from a broad perspective in our teaching and research. It’s an approach that is rooted in Concordia’s founding in 1974, which brought together Loyola College (1896) and Sir George Williams University (1926).
Nearly 48,000 students are pursuing their educational and research goals at Concordia. The University is made up of four Faculties (Arts and Science, Fine Arts, the Gina Cody School of Engineering and Computer Science and the John Molson School of Business), a School of Graduate Studies and a Centre for Continuing Education. We encourage our students to become active, critical and concerned citizens in order to enrich the world’s wealth of knowledge, bridge communities and, most importantly, grow and contribute. We call our approach “next-generation” — examining the issues of the day and seizing opportunities with a diversity of thought and an openness of spirit.
Our philosophy includes complementing classroom time with practical, real-life experience. It means being engaged in research opportunities, athletics, professional networking, alumni mentoring and more. It also means being connected to friends and dedicated professors in a remarkable urban environment that will make students feel right at home.
